Heidelberg Technology Park UmweltPark

The environment on center stage! The UmweltPark is another forward-looking high-technology site in Heidelberg. The first companies orientated around environment technology and business, moved onto the Technology Park during the mid 1980s.

Finally in 2005, a site purely for environmental-related enterprise was opened with the arrival of the Heidelberg Rhein-Neckar e.V. Center of Environmental Expertise (UKOM). The 'Heinsteinwerke' buildings, founded in 1911, were re-developed. This created an area of 1,700 m², specifically tailored for the needs of this growth industry, giving companies space to develop new ideas. Due to booming demand, an expansion was undertaken in the same year: Heidelberg Technology Park, once again looking to the future.
