The building LAB22

LAB22 is a classically angled building with a suspended metal facade and external sun protection. The technical floor is aesthetically differentiated from the four floors below.

The building is divided into two areas: The already rented eastern part of the building with the WetLabs and coworking spaces, and the western part of the building with lab and office spaces for SMEs.

The entrance situation on the north side of the building is directly visible and inviting due to its recessed construction. In the WetLabs and coworking spaces, visitors are greeted by a lobby that opens to the administrative staff office and the lounge area. Access to the individual rental areas of the lab and office spaces is through a central access area on all floors. Inside, there is a play of light and dark colors. The WetLabs and coworking spaces benefit from abundant natural light thanks to numerous glass walls. The traffic areas feature ceramic tile flooring, the lab areas have rubber flooring, and the office areas have carpeting.

With the BDC, the Heidelberg Technology Park offers laboratory and office space for freshly founded start-ups. LAB22 expands this portfolio with space for young and medium-sized companies.

The WetLabs and coworking spaces of BioLabs Heidelberg can already be rented and occupied. The lab and office spaces will be available from the beginning of 2024. There is no time limitation on the rental agreement for these.


Typical tenants are established small and medium-sized companies that are at home in the fields of BioTech, LifeSience, MedTech, 3D printing, chemistry, AI and robotics.


The Heidelberg Technology Park GmbH leased the eastern part of the building with the WetLabs and coworking spaces entirely to BioLabs CoWorking Spaces GmbH. BioLabs Heidelberg has been a tenant of the Technology Park for some time and, before its spatial expansion into LAB22, was located in the Business Development Center (BDC).
