Heidelberg, April 27, 2026 – The Technologiepark Heidelberg is setting the course for the future: As of August 2026, Dr. Peter Guckenbiehl will assume the role of Managing Director and will be responsible for the strategic development of the technology and innovation center. With his extensive expertise at the interface of science, business, and technology, he brings ideal qualifications to sustainably strengthen the Technologiepark Heidelberg and to provide new momentum for growth and networking.
Dr. Guckenbiehl has many years of diverse leadership experience in the technology and innovation sector. Following his academic studies and doctorate, he held senior positions both nationally and internationally, where he played a key role in shaping forward-looking strategies. He currently serves as Managing Director of the Science and Innovation Alliance Kaiserslautern e.V., where he has been driving significant initiatives in digitalization and in fostering connections between science and industry.
The change in leadership at the Technologiepark Heidelberg is tied to a clear strategic vision: the focus will be on expanding a strong portfolio of modern, flexible space offerings for technology companies in order to meet the growing demand in Heidelberg and the surrounding region. At the same time, the transfer of outstanding scientific achievements at the site will be translated more consistently into concrete products, spin-offs, and successful companies. Another key priority is to sustainably strengthen Heidelberg’s already dynamic startup ecosystem, further enhance networking, and increase its visibility both nationally and internationally.
