The innovative food-tech company freshtaste, a spin-off of Welovefresh GmbH, has reached a significant financial milestone. For the first time, the company is accepting investor funds, amounting to millions, thanks to a participation by Engelhardt Kaupp Kiefer & Co. This capital will be used for technological product development and logistics expansion, which will give freshtaste a considerable advantage over its competitors.
Since its founding in 2019, freshtaste, under the leadership of CEO and co-founder Alexander Stupp, has seen impressive success in the Rhine-Neckar region. The company has established itself as the preferred solution for employee catering in the workplace, especially among small and medium-sized businesses. Its smart refrigerator solution, combined with the freshtaste app, offers an autonomous way for teams to access healthy and delicious food at any time.
The dishes are prepared fresh each week in the large kitchen in Heidelberg, sustainably packaged, and delivered to offices. The range includes breakfast, snacks, salads, and main meals to cater to all tastes and needs. The smart technology, in conjunction with the app, actively combats food waste.
The company optimally adjusts the contents of its refrigerators to the needs of the respective companies and cooperates regionally with food-sharing providers to reduce surpluses. With the new investment, freshtaste plans to expand its delivery area further in southern Germany, particularly in the Stuttgart and Frankfurt regions, while continuously developing all technological aspects of the company.
Alexander Stupp emphasizes that freshtaste's goal has always been to bring people together at a table, especially in a relaxed atmosphere during meals. "Lunch break becomes a simple and enjoyable experience with our Smart Fridge. We have seen ourselves how this positively develops team culture," says Stupp.
