“Start-up BW Pre-Seed is picking up speed,” explains Nicole Hoffmeister-Kraut (CDU), Baden-Württemberg’s Minister of Economic Affairs. The new funding program targets innovative start-ups in the early stage—that is, those in the pre-seed phase—which private investors and VC companies are still very cautious about due to the risk involved. This funding instrument, which kicks in at an earlier stage than hitherto available forms of financial assistance, is intended to discernibly contribute to making more promising start-ups “ready for funding or VC” from institutional investors.
Technologiepark Heidelberg, together with incubators in Mannheim and InnoWerft in Walldorf, is a project partner and point of contact for interested start-ups.
