The Heidelberg startup Enzo equips buildings with sensors to detect water pipe damage at an early stage. Important customers include insurance companies. The business will be expanded with new funding.
The startup Enzo has raised 2.3 million euros in a financing round, as the company announced. Existing investors 2bX and Styx participated, and several business angels joined, including insurance managers Gerhard Frieg (Zurich, HDI), Peter Schneider (Janitos), and Alexander Grimm (Getsafe).
The startup has developed a sensor for houses and apartments that is attached to the water pipe. This allows early detection of water damage. Enzo has launched a home insurance policy with Gothaer Versicherung for this purpose. The startup also sells its sensor technology to other insurance companies. Early detection of leaks can save insurance companies significant costs. Other customer groups include property management companies and real estate firms.
The new funds will be invested in the team and product development. The company, which has 15 employees, was founded in 2021 by Sascha Wolf and Marvin Follmann and is based in Heidelberg.
