VISION is the world's leading trade fair for machine vision. At this year's VISION Start-up Pitch Session, which took place on November 11, HD Vision Systems, one of our Business Development Center (BDC) tenants, emerged as the winner. The startup impressed with the topic "Light field and Deep Learning-based Machine Vision" and was chosen as the winner with 39% of the votes cast. "We are gigantically happy about the award as VISION Start-up 2020! The VISION Start-up Pitch of VISION and VDMA is a wonderful opportunity for us as a young company to make ourselves and our technology better known among a broad professional audience. For us, VISION stands for maximum success: Already in 2016 as a university project and in 2018 as a freshly founded start-up, we were able to win our first customer at the trade fair in Stuttgart and make many valuable contacts. And also the VISION Start-up Pitch has already paid off for us: Less than five minutes after the end of the competition, we received the first customer inquiry! We are really excited and are already looking forward to the next VISION 2021," says Benedikt Karolus, one of the two founders of HD Vision Systems.

HD Vision Systems was also a prize winner in the "100 Places for Industry 4.0 in Baden-Württemberg" competition of the Industry 4.0 Alliance, a network initiated and supported by the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Economics. With the current thematic focus on artificial intelligence (AI), the competition honored solutions with this future technology that have already found their way into corporate practice. The technology of light field-based sensor technology for AI-supported robot vision from HD Vision Systems was convincing and was awarded a prize.
